Jay Silliman, founder and owner of BackStreet Capital, is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the state of Georgia, receiving his initial Real Estate License in 1994. Jay's introduction to real estate however, began several years prior with his involvement in rehabbing and value-added projects as a successful independent Real Estate Investor.
Jay's largest impact on the Atlanta Real Estate market came with the introduction and growth of the residential "authentic loft" market through the "Adaptive Reuse" of old warehouse building dating back to the 1890's - early 1900's. Along with several developers, Jay is directly responsible for the genesis and success of Atlanta's Loft community known as Castleberry Hill as well as other developments around the city. In conjunction with developers, Jay's participation included market studies, conceptual design, funding, marketing, and sales. To date, Jay has sold in excess of $100 million dollars of authentic loft units.
Jay's experience also includes direct consultation and negotiations with developers, architects, city planners and zoning. Jay also has extensive experience in purchasing and rehabbing distressed properties, value-added opportunities, and Adaptive Reuse projects.
In forming his team for BackStreet Capital, Jay has aligned himself with a group of consultants, contractors, developers, investors, and Realtors from across the United States. Access to this group of professionals and proven analytic systems provides additional opportunities and effectiveness when researching and acquiring property for his clients.
